On the occasion of National Youth Day, the Youth Red Cross (YRC) wing of the institute organized a collage-making competition for undergraduate students with the objective of encouraging creativity, self-expression, and awareness among the youth. The event aimed to provide students with a platform to visually express their thoughts, concerns, aspirations, and identity as members of Generation Z.
The theme of the competition, “My Generation in One Frame,” invited participants to portray various aspects of Gen Z, including technological advancement, social responsibility, mental health awareness, environmental concerns, cultural diversity, and future aspirations. Students showcased their ideas through innovative use of images, colors, and messages, reflecting both the challenges and strengths of today’s youth.
A total of 40 undergraduate students participated enthusiastically in the competition, demonstrating remarkable creativity and artistic skills. The collages were evaluated by Dr. Ramya Pai and Dr. Shruti Virupaxi, who served as judges for the event. The judges appreciated the originality, clarity of thought, relevance to the theme, and overall presentation of the entries, and encouraged students to continue expressing their ideas through creative platforms.
The event was honored by the presence of Principal Dr. Ramakant Nayak, Dr. Vijayalakshmi Kotrashetti, Dr. Zarir Ruttonji, and Dr. Sachita Naik, whose encouragement and support greatly motivated the participants. YRC student members actively assisted in the smooth conduct of the program, ensuring proper coordination and participation throughout the event.
The competition was efficiently planned and successfully managed by Dr. Viplavi Chavan, YRC In-charge, whose guidance and leadership contributed significantly to the overall success of the event. The program concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the spirit of National Youth Day and highlighting the role of youth in shaping a responsible, compassionate, and progressive society.

On the occasion of 95th Maratha Mandal’s Foundation day, Department of Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Department of Oral Surgery, and Youth Red cross wing of the Institute organized a voluntary Blood Donation camp in collaboration with Mahaveer Blood Bank, Belagavi on 3rd January 2026. Principal Dr Ramakant Nayak, Dr Yellaburgi , Medical officer and his team, HOD Department of Oral Pathology Dr Vijayalakshmi Kottrashetti, , YRC Incharge Dr Viplavi Chavan Patil, Reader of Department of Oral Surgery Dr Santosh Dindwar and YRC student volunteers graced the occasion. The occasion began with a floral homage to the late Shri Nathajirao G Halgekar, the founder chairman of the Nathajirao G Halgekar Institute of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, followed by an inauguration ceremony.
Dr. Yellaburgi spoke on the importance of blood donation. Vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Laafiza. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr (Smt) Rajshree Nagaraju, President, Maratha Mandal. A total of 40 volunteers donated their blood and made the event successful.

World Red Cross Day—a day dedicated to humanity, compassion, and the selfless service that defines the spirit of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Observed each year on May 8, this day commemorates the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the visionary founder of the Red Cross and the first Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
The theme for this year is: “Joy of giving “, reminding us all of the ongoing commitment to kindness, resilience, and humanitarian values.
We at our institute celebrated World Red Cross Day by organizing a motivational talk by Dr Rajesh Latkar ( MD Anesthesiology ). Dr Rajesh Latkar shared his experiences and valuable lessons with the students. He emphasized on Joy of giving and serving the humanity. First and Second year BDS students participated in the event.
Principal Dr Ramakant Nayak , Vice Principal Dr Preethi Kusugal , Youth Red Cross committee incharge Dr Viplavi Chavan, Youth Red Cross committee members Dr Zarir Ruttonji, Dr Sachita Naik all volunteers were present for the event.

On the occasion of National Youth Day, Youth Red Cross wing of the institute organized a visit to the Maratha Museum at Maratha Light Infantry on 15th January 2025 at 10 AM-12:30 PM. Colonel Martin gave the tour of the museum and gave information about various armors, weapons, evolution of the Indian Army dress code and enlightened about the great warriors of the Maratha Regiment. Students also got the opportunity to visit the war memorial located at the Maratha Light Infantry premises. Total of 25 students and 5 staff members participated in the event. Dr Zarir Ruttonji and Dr Viplavi Chavan coordinated for the event.

Followed by with inauguration ceremony.
