Faculty Development Program on Competency-Based Dental Education (CBDE)
A two-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Competency-Based Dental Education (CBDE) was successfully conducted on 29th and 30th May 2026 to enhance faculty expertise in structured and competency-based assessment methods.
The program provided in-depth training on Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE), and Structured Viva Cards, enabling faculty members to strengthen their teaching, assessment, and evaluation practices across various dental disciplines.
The impact of the program was evaluated using the Kirkpatrick Four-Level Model, which demonstrated positive outcomes in knowledge acquisition and the effective implementation of learned skills within departmental teaching activities.
The FDP concluded successfully, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to advancing competency-based dental education and improving the quality of student assessment.

Faculty Development Program on Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
The Department of Dental Education (DDE) Cell of our institution organized an insightful faculty development programme on Good Clinical Practice (GCP) on 27th April 2026, The session aimed to enhance awareness and implementation of ethical and quality standards in clinical research and practice among faculty members.
The event featured Dr. Jessica Monteiro, a renowned expert in clinical research and medical ethics, as the Guest speaker. Dr. Jessica Monteiro delivered a comprehensive and engaging lecture covering the key principles of GCP, including understanding good clinical practice: A guide to ethical clinical trials and comprehensive guide to ICH guidelines, patient safety, data integrity, informed consent and protocol compliance.
The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Viplavi C, who highlighted the objectives of the workshop and the importance of adhering to globally accepted clinical standards. Dr. Jessica Monteiro presentation included real-world examples, current regulatory insights, and practical challenges in clinical research.
An interactive Q&A session followed, where attendees actively participated and sought clarity on various aspects of ethical clinical practice and research documentation.
In a warm and respectful gesture, Dr. Preethi Kusugal felicitated Dr. Jessica Monteiro , appreciating his valuable insights and contributions to the academic session.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members. The DDE Cell extended its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jessica Monteiro and all attendees for their active involvement.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rekha S.V and a renewed commitment by the institution to promote ethical excellence in clinical practice and education.
