World Red Cross Day 2026
World Red Cross Day 2026
To commemorate World Red Cross Day 2026, the Youth Red Cross wing of our institute
organized a First Aid Training Program on 8th May 2026 in the college auditorium. The
program was conducted by Mr. Suhas Deshpande, Proprietor of Xpert Safety Solutions.
The objective of the program was to create awareness about the importance of first aid and to
equip participants with basic emergency response skills. The session was attended by II BDS
students and interns.
The session began with a brief introduction about the significance of World Red Cross Day
and the role of first aid in saving lives during emergencies. Mr. Suhas Deshpande and Miss
Gautami Deshpande delivered an informative and interactive lecture on various first aid
techniques and emergency management procedures.
During the training, the resource person explained the immediate steps to be taken in
situations such as burns, bleeding, fractures, choking, fainting, and cardiac emergencies.
Demonstrations on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), bandaging techniques, and safe
handling of injured persons were also conducted. Participants actively interacted with the
trainer and clarified their doubts regarding emergency care and safety practices.
The program was highly beneficial and enhanced the participants’ awareness and confidence
in handling emergency situations effectively. The practical demonstrations and real-life
examples made the session more engaging and informative.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks. Vice Principal Dr Preethi Kusugak, YRC
Incharge Dr Viplavi Chavan, YRC members Dr Sachita Naik and Dr Zarir Ruttinji attended
the event.
